Cheikhou Kouyate at Purple & White until 2016

Cheikhou Kouyate has extended his contract at the Purple & White - which was still running until 2014 - with two seasons. The Senegalese, then, is now bound to Anderlecht until 2016.

Kouyate came to RSC Anderlecht in the season 2008-2009. After a first season on loan at KV Kortrijk, he returned to Brussels where he was able to push through during the next seasons and became a first-string player in coach Ariël Jacobs’ team. Kouyate played 87 matches in 2,5 seasons Anderlecht and scored three times. In 2009-2010 he took the title with the Purple & White.

"I am very satisfied with this extension of my contract", Cheikhou said. "I love this club and I am proud to defend the Purple & White colours. I would also like to thank everyone at the club, the staff and my teammates, as I would not have been here if it was not for them. And the loyal fans, of course", he continued. "The club show with this new contract that they have a lot of faith in me and I will do anything I can to help accomplish this season’s goals and give the fans a 31st title."
