RSCA complete stage with 1-2 victory over Werder Bremen

Sporting Anderlecht beat Werder Bremen, currently ranked fifth in the Bundesliga, 1-2. Sacha Iakovenko and Dennis Praet scored for the team from Brussels and thus made sure Sporting were able to complete the stage in Belek in a positive way.

Still, the Purple & White fell behind 1-0 ten minutes before half-time after a goal by Rosenberg, but fought their way back into the game in the second half. Anderlecht coach Ariël Jacobs carried through eight substitutions during half-time and Lucas Biglia made his comeback after having undergone shoulder surgery in November. New player Patou Kabangu also played in the second half. Under Lucas Biglia and the young Dennis Praet’s leadership, Anderlecht slowly but surely took control of the game. Just before the sixtieth minute of play, an attempt by Praet was averted by Bremen goalie Wiese, Dieumerci Mbokani hit the post and somewhat later on a shot by the striker went wide, but the equalizer was afoot. Fifteen minutes before the final whistle, Dennis Praet reached Sacha Iakovenko who scored a nice goal: 1-1. Only a few minutes later on, a header by Mbokani just missed the goal, but just before the end the 1-2 did go in. This time Dennis Praet scored. The youngster got the ball from new player Patou Kabangu. RSC Anderlecht, then, were able to complete the stage in Belek with a 1-2 win against Werder Bremen.
