RSC Anderlecht will complete the football year 2011 with an away match at RAEC Mons tomorrow, Tuesday 27th December 2011. Coach Ariël Jacobs has announced a selection of 19 players for the match at the Stade Charles Tondreau. Last week several players did not train due to illness, but today, Monday 26th December, almost everyone was present again. Only Fernando has to forfeit the game.
After a day off on Christmas, the players trained again this afternoon. Tonight the group will leave to train in isolation. "We have chosen that solution so we can watch the players better after the holidays, also as far as their diet is concerned", Jacobs said. The Purple & White coach does not think it is an advantage to play on Tuesday. "I would have preferred to play on Monday and the players as well, I think. To play a day later takes a day off away from them and they only have a week..."
The pitch in Mons was not in a very good state during the Cup match last week. "The pitch was heavy", Sporting’s T1 said. "And since not a lot has changed with respect to the weather, it will be the same on Tuesday." Jérémy Perbet, the top scorer in first division, will play for Mons. "Perbet is a real striker and he just keeps on scoring. He knows where he has to be, not once, but every time and on the right moments. Another advantage: neither the player, nor Mons are currently feeling any pressure, which makes them dangerous opponents."
Selection : Badibanga, Cordier, Deschacht, De Sutter, Gillet, Iakovenko, Jovanovic, Juhasz, Kljestan, Kouyate, Marecek, Mbokani, Odoi, Praet, Proto, Safari, Schollen, Suarez, Wasilewski
Kickoff of RAEC Mons-RSCA will take place at the Charles Tondreau Stadium on Tuesday 27/12 at 8 p.m. The match will be broadcast live by Sporting Telenet and VOO Foot.
