The Purple & White U-21 took on Cercle Bruges at the Koning Boudewijn Stadium on Friday 25th November 2011. The team from West-Flanders - ranked last on the U-21 league table - kept Sporting Anderlecht on a 3-3 draw.
Cercle took a 0-2 lead before the sixtieth minute of play via an own goal by Bryan Verboom and a goal by Axel Harinck. Anderlecht, however, fought their way back into the match and came back in two minutes’ time thanks to Andreas Luckermans and Jonathan Vervoort: 2-2. When Bruno Godeau turned the score into 3-2 twenty minutes before the final whistle, the Purple & White looked like they were going to take the three points after all. Cercle, however, scored their third goal via Karim Stolkx only a few minutes later on: final score 3-3.
