U-21 : Purple & White give away 2-0 lead again

The Purple & White U-21 team took on Standard as part of the fifth matchday of the U-21 league on Friday 23rd September 2011. With Diogo, Samuel, Lamisha Musonda, Reynaldo and Ziguy Badibanga, five players of the A-squad were in the starting line-up. Badibanga provided his team with a lead just before half-time and - despite Samuel’s disqualification after 55 minutes - Anderlecht appeared to be heading for a victory. After more than sixty minutes, a 2-0 score even appeared on the board, but Standard came back during the final minutes of the match: 2-2...

Ziguy Badibanga had provided the home team with a 1-0 lead, after a centre by Reynaldo. In the second half Samuel was sent off the field after 55 minutes of play. Anderlecht, however, kept on going for it and, after an hour’s worth of play, Reynaldo put the 2-0 on the board after a cross by Badibanga. The sting, however was in the tail… First Tino Susic beat Davy Roef (2-1) and in the final minute - exactly like at Ghent - Sporting were rebuffed when Michy Batshuayi put the 2-2 on the board. For the Purple & White this is the second loss of points in only five days’ time.
