The Belgian U-19 team will play qualifying matches for the European Championships 2012 in Slovenia from Wednesday 21st up to and including Monday 26th September 2011. For the first qualifying round the young Devils have ended up in a group with Wales, Slovenia and Scotland. Anderlecht players Massimo Bruno, Jordan Lukaku and Jonathan Vervoort - Purple & White U-21 players - were selected and left for Slovenia with their team.
In order to qualify for the final round of the EC 2012, the Belgian U-19 not only have to make it through this qualifying round, they also have to play the consequent elite round. The EC will take place in Estonia in July 2012, eight teams will take part.
In the current qualifying round 12 groups of four teams will compete. The numbers one and two in each group qualify for the elite round together with the best numbers three. That elite round will take place in the spring and the best seven teams from the round, together with guest nation Estonia, will qualify for the final round.
