RSC Anderlecht and Terek Grozny have reached an agreement concerning the definitive transfer of Jonathan Legear on Tuesday 30 August 2011 to the Russian competition. After seven seasons of loyal service in Brussels, Jona will play for Terek Grozny the next three seasons.
Jonathan Legear made his first appearance for Sporting Anderlecht during the 2004-2005 season, in the away game against Ostend. He played twenty minutes and scored one goal (1-3-victory). During the seven years in which he played for Anderlecht he played 163 games for Sporting and scored 29 goals. He won three Belgian Championships and one Belgian Cup.
"Leaving Anderlecht was a difficult decision, but I am ready for a new challenge", says Jonathan Legear. "Also financially this is a very good deal, I have to keep in mind that the career of a football player is short. The Russian competition also reaches a good level", he continues. "I will never forget what RSC Anderlecht has done for me. I will always carry them with me in my heart and I want to thank the coach, board, employees and supporters for those beautiful years. I wish RSCA all the best in de Belgian competition and the Europa League."
