Superleague Formula 2011 to start in Assen in June

The fourth edition of the Superleague Formula by Sonangol will take off in the Dutch Assen on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June 2011, the first of eight racing weekends. Just like the past years, a racing weekend will take place on the Circuit Zolder in July.

Assen and Zolder, for that matter, are the only West-European circuits to host the Superleague Formula this season. The rest of the racing weekends will take place in Russian, China, Brazil and New Zealand.

RSC Anderlecht cooperated with race team Azerti last season. The Purple & White managed - with Italian Davide Rigon behind the wheel – to take the title after an exciting final in the Spanish Navarra. Sporting will work with Azerti again this year, but it is not clear yet who will drive the Purple & White racing car.

These 18 clubs will take each other on for the title : Liverpool, Tottenham, PSV, Olympiacos, Corinthians, Atletico Madrid, FC Porto, AS Roma, FC Basel, Sporting Lissabon, AC Milan, Galatasaray, Flamengo, RSC Anderlecht, Sevilla, Bordeaux, Beijing Guoan FC and Lyon.
