The five finalists for the Ebony Shoe have been announced. Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku is one of the five nominees. Mehdi Carcela, Yassine El Ghanassy, Marvin Ogunjimi and Mémé Tchite also have a chance of winning the trophy. The Ebony Shoe rewards the best African football player (or player who has African roots) on the Belgian pitches (*). The final winner will be elected on Monday 9th May 2011.

(* Only players who are currently playing in Belgium are eligible to win the trophy, so the points rewarded to Mbark Boussoufa will not be held into account)
