Sporting Anderlecht took on Sporting Lokeren at Daknam as part of the fourth match day of the Jupiler Pro League tonight, Saturday 21st August. Ariël Jacobs’ team won 0-3 thanks to goals by Sacha Kljestan, Kanu and Mbark Boussoufa (penalty).
RSCA’s coach carried through several changes in comparison to the team that took on Partizan Belgrado on Wednesday. Victor Bernardez, Nemanja Rnic, Lukas Marecek, Sacha Kljestan, Kanu and Pablo Chavarria started the match.
The visitors took control of the match from the beginning on. RSCA were immediately dangerous through Boussoufa, Marecek and Chavarría. Anderlecht kept on putting pressure on the home team and, after some thirty minutes of play, they were rewarded with a goal. Guillaume Gillet reached the almost unmarked Sacha Kljestan in the box. The American scored the 0-1 with a header, his first goal in the Belgian league. A few minutes after that goal, De Pauw almost scored the equalizer, but Proto made two nice saves.
In the second half, Sporting Anderlecht went looking for the liberating second goal, which was eventually scored by Kanu. The Brazilian was able to beat Copa after a falling Boussoufa had fed the ball on to him. Like that, he provided Anderlecht with a comfortable lead. The home team tried to react and a brilliant Proto had to prevent them from scoring. He made no less than four saves to prevent the 2-1 from going in. In the end, Anderlecht even increased their lead. Mbark Boussoufa converted a penalty after having been fouled himself. After that, the score remained the same, so that RSCA were able to return to the Astridpark with a nice victory.
