RSC Anderlecht coach Franky Vercauteren has selected 18 players for the game against SK Lierse tomorrow, 28th October. Another player will be added to the squad after the Saturday morning training session. Sami Allagui, Roland Lamah, Dieudonné Mbokani and Sébastien Siani are still in the running.
Mémé Tchité, who had to leave the training pitch on Thursday due to an injury to the quadriceps muscle, is ready for the game against Lierse. Cheik Tiote however isn’t fit to return in the squad yet, the midfielder even had to quit the training again. He won't be playing with the substitutes on Monday either.
Nicolas Pareja's revalidation (knee) is going well, the defender will be having another check-up early next week. Silvio Proto is also recovering well, but the technical and medical staff aren't willing to take risks with the goalkeeper.
Anderlecht is hosting the game against Lierse, currently last in the league. But this doesn't mean Vercauteren isn't cautious. "This is a very dangerous game", he said. "The Lierse players will be extremely motivated to prove themselves, just like any other team against Anderlecht. They may only have one point so far, but that's what makes them so dangerous. Everybody expects us to win easily. The timing of the game is also dangerous, just before the Champions League game against Milan and Standard – RSCA."
Selection : Akin, Biglia, Boussoufa, De Man, Deschacht, Frutos, Goor, Hassan, Juhasz, Legear, Leiva, Mpenza, Schollen, Tchite, Van Damme, Vanden Borre, Vanderhaeghe, Zitka
