RSC Anderlecht’s U21 team played a friendly match against the Belgian U19 today, Monday 30th March 2009. Niels Ringoot was the only Anderlecht player in the U19 selection, but he had to pull out because of an injury. The match ended in a 3-3 draw.

After twenty minutes of play, however, things looked rather hopeless for RSCA’s U21 team. After only five minutes of play, Yassine El Ghanassy had turned the score into 0-1, through a free kick. Anderlecht tried to react through Mukendi, but the striker’s shot went wide. After some fifteen minutes of play, the young Red Devils were able to score the 0-2 from a penalty. M'Pon took down Evertz and Maxim Geurden converted the penalty. Sporting went looking for the tying goal, but in the thirtieth minute the U19 scored: Yassine El Ghanassy’s second goal of the evening turned the score into 0-3. Just before half-time the home team did manage to score. Reynaldo reached Mukendi, who fed the ball to Cedric Ndoumbe and he put the 1-3 half-time score on the board.

At the beginning of the second half, half of RSCA’s U21 team was substituted. Anderlecht kept on going and went looking for the tying goal. After some sixty minutes of play, Johan Walem and René Peeters’s team got what they deserved. Kalala was taken down in the box and Camilo Dandois converted the penalty unerringly: 2-3. Some ten minutes later on, he could do this again, this time Baras was brought down. Camilo Dandois also kicked this penalty past Jo Coppens and gave his team a deserved three-all draw.

Line-up RSCA: Knipping (46' Roef), Ciza (60' Lodders), M'pon (46' Kalala), Sterckx, Godeau (46' Damiani), Garcia Calvete (46' Dandois), Ndoumbe (60' Montes), Kage (25' Degreef), Mukendi (46' Lukaku), Dos Santos Silva (60' Baras), Diandy (46' Crommen)

Goals: 05' El Ganassy (0-1), 17' Geurden (0-2, penalty), 32' El Ganassy (0-3), 44' Ndoumbe (1-3), 66' Dandois (2-3, penalty), 74' Dandois (3-3, penalty)

RSCA’s U21 team will play against Sporting Lokeren at the Heizel (field 2) next Friday 3rd April 2009 at 7.30 p.m.
