Sporting Anderlecht beat Cercle Bruges 3-1 tonight, Sunday 30th march 2008. Jelle Van Damme scored twice with a header and Mbark Boussoufa scored through a free kick.

RSCA created the most scoring opportunities in the early stages of the match, but Sergeant gave Cercle the lead anyway just before halftime. Sporting did not have to wait long for the deserved equalizer: Jelle Van Damme headed a free kick by Boussoufa firmly past Verbist, also before halftime.

The home team had to wait until the sixtieth minute of the match to leave Cercle permanently behind. Mbark Boussoufa nicely curled a free kick across the wall in goal and, that way, he gave RSCA a 2-1 lead. Less than 10 minutes later, Jelle Van Damme put the final score on the board, when he headed Boussoufa's corner diagonally past the keeper.

Thanks to the 3-1 win against Cercle and Club Bruges' loss against Genk (2-6), Anderlecht is now ranked second on the league table.
